Okay… 3-4 Days To Get Ready

2014 Photography Shootout… you’ve still got 3-4 days to get a couple of photos ready. I know from watching Facebook posts that there are lots and lots of local photographers doing family shoots, weddings, senior pics, graduations, etc. This is a great opportunity to have some of your best work seen by the public!

Photos need to be submitted for the contest this Thursday or Friday, October 2nd or 3rd. Then they will be juried on Saturday, the 4th.

Up to 33 individual cash prizes will be awarded and a reception(informal) for the photographers, their friends and families and the community will be held on Thursday, October 9th.

You’ve still got time! Get to work!

The Outlaw Trail Festival of the Arts is a part of the Uintah Arts Council.

Last Chance To See This Year’s Art Show

The 2014 Juried Art Show will be on display through Tuesday, September 30th at the new Uintah County Heritage Museum. Housed in the former library building at 155 East Main Street in Vernal, the Art Show will be taken down after the 30th to make way for the Photo Shootout. Entries for this juried photography contest are due on Thursday & Friday, October 2nd & 3rd.

Drop by during regular business hours and see the marvelous artwork of our local artists. In the meantime, start planning your artwork for the same show, tentatively set for next June… or figure out which photos you would like to enter in the Photo Shootout.

All of the details are at OutlawTrailFestival.com. We would love to see you there!

Photo Shootout – For Everybody!

Have you got a great photo that you took? Maybe it was by accident… maybe you meant for it to turn out just like it did. Maybe you would like to share it with everybody because it’s such a magnificent shot.

That’s why you should enter it in our annual Photography Shootout. It’s open to novices (beginners), amateurs, advanced amateurs (see definition in the Rules) or professionals. The cool thing is… you only compete against photographers in your own division. So, if you’re a beginner, you won’t be competing against the pros!

It’s fun. It’s easy. It’s time. You’ve got about a week to get your stuff together, pick out your photos (up to 4), get them printed, get them mounted, fill out the paperwork and enter the contest on either October 2nd or 3rd. Oh… save the evening of Thursday, October 9th, from 6-8 PM to come to a reception (informal) for the photographers, their families, and anyone in town who wants to come. That’s where we announce the prize-winners and hand out the checks.

This all happens at the new Uintah County Heritage Museum at 155 East Main Street (in the old library space). Rules, entry forms, and all of the particulars can be found at OutlawTrailFestival.com or drop into the museum during regular business hours.

Now… get going… today!
