Nobody Dies In A Photo Shootout

Two Primates Photographing Each Other web 1000 n 72 In 20 years of Outlaw Trail Juried Photo Shootouts, no one has ever been killed in a shootout! There may have been some hurt feelings or some wounded pride–but that’s probably just the result of a juried contest.

Jurors are picked–from outside the community–based on some qualifications and some experience. Then we, as artists, put our best work out there for everyone to see–and for one person to judge. “I like this one because…”

Thursday, October 15th is photographer reception night–for the artists, their families and the whole community that wants to come out and see their work–to judge, compare, get inspired and appreciate the wonderful images that are on display.

Uintah County Heritage Museum, 155 East Main st., Vernal, Utah. 6:30 PM – 8 PM. Free admission. Light refreshments will be available. Prize announcements will be made at approximately 7 PM. $2,250 will be awarded to 18 different individuals in this, the largest juried photo contest in northeastern Utah.

You may also cast a vote (1 vote) for your favorite–you’re the juror–one photographer will win the “People’s Choice” award–announced at a later date.

The Outlaw Trail Festival of the Arts is part of the volunteer efforts of the Uintah Arts Council.
