Our Juror,

Amber Rust is the owner of Two Color Photography in Brigham City.  Although she has been in business for 15 years, her interest in photography started over 16 years ago at the birth of her first daughter.

Amber grew up in the printing industry working at her father’s printing business from the time she was tall enough to see over the collating table. After graduating from Uintah High School she went to Utah State University where she worked at Utah State University’s Conferencing Division as a graphic designer for 4 years.  She then took on the role of graphic designer for Cache Valley Parents magazine which was later renamed Top Of Utah Families.  Through her work at Top of Utah Families, Amber began using her own pictures in the magazine when it was hard to find stock photos that fit into the tight budget of a small magazine.

Amber shot her first two weddings 13 years ago using a film camera.  She bought her first Digital SLR after her second wedding and hasn’t looked back since.  Her business has now evolved from photographing two weddings a year to retiring her wedding photography line and choosing to specialize in newborn and family photography.  She has a custom designed newborn studio in her home.  Newborn sessions are her most frequently photographed sessions with babies and children taking a close second! In 2016 Two Color Photography added 5 associate photographers to help reach all the clients needing sessions.

Amber now teaches a number of workshops from Newborn Photography Workshops, Pricing and Marketing Workshops, and General Photography classes/workshops.  She also mentors photographers one-on-one.

Amber served as President of Brigham City’s Women in Business Organization in 2014 and was named Business Woman of the Year in Brigham City in 2014.  Amber also donates her talents to photograph angels for the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Organization.  She also presented at the this year’s Women’s Forum

Amber is married to Thomas Rust and they are the proud parents of 5 children.
