Regarding our upcoming 2017 Photo Shootout. The rules for this year state that framing of your photo is preferred but that it may also be securely mounted with a mat… we realize that some new methods for photo printing have become popular in the past few years, including printing on metal, glass, canvas and other materials. All of these mediums are probably fine for entry into this contest as long as it is ready to hang, safe to hang and handle, and falls within the size limitations. Safety for the patrons that will be viewing the show and for the artwork is the most important item here. We (the Uintah Arts Council and the Uintah County Heritage Museum) are not responsible for any damage to or loss of your artwork. If you are concerned about insuring the value of your art, you must obtain such insurance through your own resources and at your own expense.
Our 20th Annual Juried Photo Shootout is ready to show! The photos were all hung over the weekend… and judged. There are lots of very, very fine photos.
If you’re interested in the awards… there will be a reception (free) for the photographers, their families and friends and the public on Thursday, October 13th from 6:30 p.m. until about 7:30 p.m. Awards will be announced at 7 p.m., and the results will be posted on this website and on our Facebook pages after Thursday.
You may even cast a ballot for your very favorite photo while you are visiting the museum. (Only one vote per person, please, and every voter must be present in the museum to cast their vote… no proxies)
Please visit the Uintah County Heritage Museum, in Vernal, and take a look for yourself. It’s free! The address is 155 E Main street and the hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed on Sunday). The show will be on display through Friday, November 4th.
This year’s theme is “Boots, Buckles & Bling”
Do You Take Some Great Photos? Would you like to show them to everyone and have chance to win a prize?
The Uintah Arts Council’s Annual Juried Photography Shootout is just a few days away. October 6th and 7th are the days to submit your photos (up to 4) for this year’s contest!
You will only compete with other photographers that are at your same approximate skill level… Amateur, Advanced Amateur, Professional, or Child (under 12).
Your photos may be of people, landscapes, plants and animals, or… if you want to have some extra fun, enter in the “theme” category and test your creativity. The theme this year is “Boots, Buckles & Bling”.
